YesAsia Editorial Description

After releasing four singles in half a year, L'Arc-en-Ciel tops off 2007 with their highly anticipated new album Kiss. Coming right on the tale of their Hurry Xmas single, Kiss is their first album in two and a half years. It comes with 12 tracks, and will include both their recent singles like Seventh Heaven, My Heart Draws a Dream, and Daybreak's Bell, as well as brand new songs. In conjunction with their new album, the band will also be going on tour, carrying over to the new year with their 2007-2008 Theater of Kiss Tour. Rocking Japan for some 16 years, L'Arc-en-Ciel celebrated their 15th anniversary last year and, at the pace they're going, they just may have another 15 in store.

Turn it up! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Kiss" is a solid J-rock album from one of the masters of the form. The songs are tightly constructed and tightly played, all but eschewing flashy guitar solos in favor of lightning fast, molten hot, pile-driving rock and roll. For my tastes, Hyde's vocals are a tad overly operatic on the fast numbers, but that's a mere quibble. Oddly, the album's last three tracks are sweet, almost syrupy pop songs; they are nice songs, but strangely out of character with what has come before them on the album. Something for everyone, I guess. This album definitely is recommended for all J-rock fans.

HYDE's Great Vocals Once Again Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I heard this album from a friend, and I have to admit that this has become my favorite L'Arc~en~ciel album.

HYDE's vocals are EXCELLENET
(especially in 'My Heart Draws A Dream.')

I will definitely be ordering this album soon. ^_^

I grew up listening to L'Arc~en~ciel, and I have to say that it is one of the only bands I know that break up into solo acts (like HYDE and Tetsu69) and then come back together and make BETTER albums!

THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR ALL L'Arc~en~ciel fans!!!!

worth it! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Any laruku fans should have this CD. totally worth it. This album again proves their versatility and unique musical touch and also why they are deserved to be one of the best jrock representative.

what really special about this album is that they are going back to their roots but at the same time still producing new sounds without ripping off their older tracks. there're upbeat songs that will make you dance (eg Seventh Heaven, Pretty Girl) and there're sad and emotional songs (eg Yuki no Ashiato) that will inspire you with their beautiful melodies.

I highly recommend this album, not only for laruku fans but also to jrock/jpop fans in general. 'Kiss' will keep its excitement, enjoyment and inspiration inside of you.

another best! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
you simply must have your own copy of this album! really worth the wait!!!! it has, as usual, different varieties of music from rock to ballad to just pure L'Arc music!

Seventh Heaven was a good opening song for the album, very hip and dancable. Pretty Girl was simply an amazing rock song (well, what do you expect from ken? :)) My heart draws a dream shows Hyde's fabulous vocal range, while Sunadokei was simply... inspiring. this track will move you.

spiral, excellent percussion from yuki!! alone en la vida was simply gorgeous (imagine, full orchestra in the background!) daybreak's bell reminds me why i love jrock, umibe-- there's no words to describe it. excellent strings, vocals and percs. Black rose was rock to the maximum. link is finally released! yuki ashiato shows why we love hyde's voice bec it can change from rock to ballad. and hurry xmas which i'm so playing on christmass!!!

buy it!

15 years and going strong Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I've been a fan of L'Arc~en~Ciel since about 2001, and have listened to nearly all of their 130+ songs now and have not been disappointed. Any fan of L'Arc~en~Ciel should pick this CD up, and anyone who is looking to get into the band, I would highly recommend this album, as it feels like a mix of their new and amazing songwriting and musical evolution with just a dash of the old school L'Arc that we all fell in love with. This album is high energy with some strong expertly-written ballads, but most of all, this album reassures the world that L'Arc~en~Ciel is a veteran powerhouse and will continue to dominate for years to come.

Congratulations, gentlemen. Here's to another 15 years.
