激動の只中にあった、慶応二年。横浜沖で難破し、アメリカ船に助けられてようやく江戸に帰ってきた源次は、妻イネが貧しさのために見世物小屋に売られたことを知る。イネは両国のストリップ劇場で、小紫太夫と名乗って舞台に上がっていた。源次はようやく妻と再会したものの、元旗本の古川をはじめとする両国の若衆の勢いに飲み込まれ、そこに居着いてしまう。そんな現状から脱したいと願う源次は、6年ほど過ごしてきた自由の国アメリカへの渡航を計画するが、イネは猥雑ながらも活気あふれる両国を捨てられない。源次もまた、妻を捨ててまでは渡米できず…。 ■映像特典：特報／予告編
