신화의 이민우 가 1년 5개월여 만에 정규 3집 앨범 explore M으로 돌아왔다. 그 동안 수 차례 단독 콘서트를 비롯해서 최근 일본 콘서트 투어를 성공리에 마친 이민우 는 올해 음악 전문 프로덕션 엠라이징 엔터테인먼트(MRISING ENTERTAINMENT)를 설립하는 등 본격적으로 프로듀서와 엔터테이너의 길을 함께 걷는 아티스트로 자리매김 하고 있다.

지난 정규 앨범(2집)에서 이미 프로듀서로서의 가능성과 폭발적인 콘서트 퍼포먼스 및 라이브 실력 또한 인정받았던 M의 3집 정규앨범에는 Urban Hip Hop, R&B, Soul을 비롯한미국 Main Stream Pop의 주류인 팀바랜드 계열까지 넘나드는 화려한 수록곡이 돋보이는 앨범으로 총 수록 곡 12트랙 중 9곡을 이민우 가 직접 작사 작곡 편곡에 참여하여 프로듀서 M의 음악성을 가늠할 수 있는 Master Piece 앨범이라 할 수 있다.

이번 M 정규 3집을 준비하는 동안 국내의 많은 프로듀서와 작품자 그리고 힙합 음악인들과 꾸준한 음악 교류를 가져왔던 이민우 는 이번 앨범을 통해 국내 최고의Urban Hip Hop & Soul의 실력자, 드렁큰 타이거의 타이거JK를 비롯해윤미래, 에픽하이의 타블로 등 국내의힙합 아티스트들과 함께 음악적 완성도를 높이기 위한 Co-Production에도 많은 시간을 투자했다. 타이거 Jk, 윤미래, 타블로, 신화의 에릭이 Featuring한 각 수록곡들 또한 그 완성도에서 높이 평가되고 있으며, 전작 2집의 보여주는 음악 위주에서 듣는 음악으로의 작품성 또한 인정 받을 만한 트랙들이다.

이번 M 3집 앨범의 타이틀곡인 'Stomp'는 전작 2집의 타이틀곡 Bump의 진화(progressive) 버전으로 올해 초 편곡의 완성을 위해서 이민우 가 직접 미국으로 건너가 현지의 샘플링 전문 회사에서 모든 악기의 음원 소스(source)를 공급받아 완성한 곡으로 국내에서는 사용된 적이 없는 음원(sampler)과 리듬소스가 M의 마스터피스 앨범의 타이틀곡으로서 기존의 Urban Hiphop에서는 들어본 적이 없는 수려한 사운드가 인상적인 곡이다.

Personally I love this album very much and like every single song. M is truly an all rounded artiste. Great packaging. A must buy if you are an M fan and a great buy if you want some great music.
