Based on the popular RPG video game, the Tales of Symphonia OVA is set in Sylverant, a magical imagined world of the past. Because of depleting mana (or energy), Sylverant is slowly dying, and all hopes lie in the Chosen One, Colette Brunel. Accompanied by her friends and protectors, Colette must embark on the Journey of World Regeneration by traveling throughout the land to awaken the Summon Spirits. With each awakened spirit, Colette loses a bit of herself as she gradually transforms into an angel. At the journey's completion, energy should be restored and the world regenerated, but Colette and company learn that there's more to the journey than meets the eye. Produced by UFO Table, the four-episode Tales of Symphonia OVA is directed by Tonosaki Haruo, with character design by Matsushima Akira (Rurouni Kenshin).
