YesAsia Editorial Description

Following the success of romantic blockbusters Tale of Autumn and Winter Sonata, Korean melodrama Love Letter is set to touch lovers of all ages. Cho Hyun Jae shot to stardom with his suave and gentle performance in Love Letter opposite lead actress Soo Aeh, who was awarded Best New Actress at MBC's 2003 Drama Awards. Completing the triangle is K-drama favorite Ji Jin Hee from Dae Jang Geum. With great acting and intriguing plot twists, Love Letter tells the heartfelt story of three close friends who struggle to keep their love alive.

After a tough childhood under his uncaring aunt, Andrew (Cho Hyun Jae) is taken in by his uncle. Following in his kind uncle's footsteps, Andrew also hopes to one day become a priest. He grows up at the church orphanage with best friend Eun Ha (Soo Aeh), and they end up becoming roommates during college. Having gone through thick and thin together, Eun Ha develops feelings for Andrew, but keeps her love hidden, knowing that Andrew is set in his path for priesthood. When classmate Woo Jin (Ji Jin Hee) confesses his love to Eun Ha, however, it throws the three friends' relationships into confusion, and Andrew begins to face his own hidden feelings for Eun Ha.

Lee Woo-Jin, also known as Andrew (Jo Hyun-Jae), became an orphan at a young age and ended up living with his abusive aunt. He faithfully prays that one day God will save him from his hardships. His prayers are answered when his uncle, Father Peter (Son Hyun-Joo), comes to rescue him from his dismal environment. Father Peter raises Andrew into a promising young man.

As a gentle and optimistic high school kid, Andrew meets Cho Eun-Ha (Soo Aeh) and sympathizes with her as both of them share the common experience of losing their parents. Andrew's genuine and delicate concern for Eun-Ha brings their friendship to the brink of love. However, they must remain only friends as Andrew reveals to her his wish to become a priest.

Upon graduating from high school, both Andrew and Eun-Ha are accepted into medical school in Seoul. Andrew meets Jung Woo-Jin (Ji Jin-Hee). Both of them have the same given name and soon become great friends. Meanwhile, Jung Woo-Jin starts to have feelings for Eun-Ha and tries his best to charm her. As Andrew's two best friends gradually become closer and closer, he feels an emptiness and realizes for the first time that he has lost his heart to Eun-Ha...

Could be more interesting.... Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
I watched this series because of Jo Hyun Jae. The storyline is weak. The girl's character is too wishy washy and throughout the entire 16 episodes, she just wasn't able to draw me into the story. I couldn't sympathize with her experience. Because of her indecisiveness, she hurts two men and herself. So this is a so-so series by K-drama standards.

Is this Love???.... Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
though I have been trying to stay clear of K-dramas with sad ending but have to grab and watch this one coz of Cho Hyun Jae.....have seen him in Only You and have loved to watched him since then.....for he got such expressive eyes PLUS such lips to boot!.....though this series was so 'heavy' for the heart to watch, especially for all the sacrifices Cho Hyun Jae's character have to make for everybody's happiness, will still love to watch this one over and over again for it has such interesting story to tell about LOVE.....and also got to watch it over and over coz can't get enough of Cho Hyun Jae, have to stare at him over and over again....really love those eyes (sigh...)...is this love???.....

love letter Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Excellent! I love it, It's very true in real life. That is the real internal war between "Loving God" for some younger generation who want to become a Priest and "the Love of My Life". I cried a lot and loved that 2 young orphans struggle for their love to each other, and hated the MOther, She is a doctor?, How could she forget that she had a son? For 18 years, she never remenbered "Once" about her own son that was taken away form her since he was a toddler, then she let him go to Italie to pursuit his Priesthood. What kind a mother is it? Excellent!!!

Just not what i was looking for.. dragged too much and i think it was a bit depressing. Watched the first 5 episodes and then skipped to the end.. i could tell it was sad and everything and i can understand why ppl have rated it, but the drama just didn't grab me.. Maybe i should stay clear of these types?
