Vocal genius Jacky Cheung continues to enjoy popularity in all corners of the world. According to album sales records from the mid-90s, Jacky was the world's best-selling artist, closely following sales leader Michael Jackson. By the end of 2003, Jacky had sold a total of around 25 million albums worldwide.
The First dates back to 2001 and was Cheung's first Cantonese album after a nearly two-year hiatus. The album features ten songs including "Sound From Upstairs" (Track 1) and "Just Like In The Beginning" (Track 5), both with lyrics from Lin Xi. "Similar To The Feeling Before Being Drunk" (Track 10), composed by Jacky himself, and the Lin Xi-penned title track The First (Track 3) have also been included on this release.
This ECO Pack reissue version comes in environmentally friendly recycled-paper packaging.

Fortunate To Have Bought This Album
| Hing Hung. I'm so "hing hung" (fortunate) to have bought this album. My most ULTIMATE favourite song in this album is the last song recorded in this Cantonese pop album - "HING HUNG" (a.k.a. "FORTUNATE"). --- THE MOST FORTUNATE MAN ON THE PLANET --- |

Best album ever!
| This is almost an autiophile CD. Simply put, awesome! I hope Jacky will make a few real audiophile CDs in the future because he's got the best male voice. |

If you have a bad mood, don't listen the song #2.
| If you have a bad mood, Please don't listen the song #2, it will hurt your feeling a lot. I was crying and crying all the time when I listened the second song. Believe me. |

A good mix of old and new
| This album has a good mix of his slower songs as well as new. But overall, it's still a good album. He's testing new grounds. Which isn't bad. But he always has a way to keep his older fans in tuned. There's always the slow, romantic songs that many love of his. It's scary to buy new albums. Wondering how "new" he can get. But I believe he'll always have the classic types to keep his long term fans happy. I have most of his albums and will stay true to the end. Haven't missed an album since 1987. Go Jacky!! |
