Hacken is always No.1
| Needless to say, Hacken Lee is one of Hong Kong's greatest Chinese pop singing sensations. Having sung songs since the release of his EP in 1986 till now, he has not disappointed us with his sublime singing every time. Whatever you do, you must treat yourself really good this Christmas, with this heaven sent compilation album. |

An astonishing collection
|
What a deal! 68 songs, totalling almost 4 1/2 hours of sublime music, for this low price??? Buy this album! From listening to this astonishingly generous package, we see that Hacken Lee has succeeded (over and over again) by picking beautifully written songs with strong, memorable melodies, wrapping them in arrangements that unveil the beauty of the tunes, and singing in a trademark style that serves the song (rather than demanding that the song serve him). Mr. Lee is not a follower of fashion; he stays true to the classic Canto-pop style. And he never, ever oversings. He does not call attention to himself with his music. In short, Hacken Lee's music is thrillingly, movingly, gloriously tasteful. This collection will fit quite comfortably alongside my boxed sets of songs by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Nat King Cole, alongside the true pop classics. That is the league in which Hacken Lee plays. This is truly good music and I give it my highest recommendation. |
