YesAsia Editorial Description
The Twins mean business in 2008.
Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi keep up their productivity in the new year with all new Mando-pop hits. None other than Taiwan's new generation god of pop Jay Chou composed the duo's latest principal song "Mutual Relationship" (Track 4), while veteran Hong Kong lyricist and record producer Chan Siu Kei provided the lyrics. Other noteworthy songs on this release include Gillian's "Can You See It?" (Track 7), a song dedicated to her grandfather, and Charlene's "Younger Sister" (Track 2) which honors her mother's unlimited love. Fans should also look out for "Cute - Repulsive", which comes in two special versions for Charlene (Track 1) and Gillian (Track 6).

| I would like to indicate that Twins' Mandarin had improve in this album. I like all the songs because it is meaningful especially the songs that were written for Charlene's mom & Gillian's grandpa. The collaboration with Jay Chou was excellent. The tune is catchy and fun to listen to. This album is a MUST BUY especially you're a Twins fan. I hope everyone will continue to support Twins even after this big scandal. We should always admire their music talents and not their personal life. SUPPORT TWINS !! |

Twins don't make their fans disappointed. With this new Mandarin album, they improve their talence is keep on going and going . All the songs are very well-written. Every solo song from Charlene and Gillian is really meaningful. This is also the 1st time that they cooperated with Jay chou-the song Excess relationship. This is the most catchy song that you can find in this album. The Mandarin version of Lonely swallow also makes me satisfied. Excellent and Surprised with this album, Twins will rock you all this year by this HIT ALBUM |

Twins Reflections!
Twins Reflections!

This is certainly one magnificent album and with a lot more varied set of song this time. In fact to get an idea of what this Twins 3rd Mandarin CD album is like (if you may not have heard it yet, of course), is that its more closer to "Ho Ho Tan" in style than "Twins Party". One thing, though, its a bit Clint Eastwood, this album......as it doesn't have a name? Is this the Twin's album with No Name? Could have had "Twin's Dream", "Twin's Reflections" or "Twins : Light and Rain". Nevertheless, as 10 musical offerings - they are classics! Different to the Twins previous album, this all kicks off with the more faster R & B up tempo song "Cute - Repulsive" on Charlene's set of 5 (nice, nice, nice) and one definitely for the re-play settings. (Cute - Repulsive, though? Wot mean? Similar to a cute Japanese RPG game sometimes having a repulsive battle system?) The following 2 tracks are in the more ballad form with track 2 being "Younger Sister", a lovely song of Charlene paying homage to her mum. The forth, "Mutual Relationship" is another fun type up tempo dance beat Twins song of old, with an anthemed lyric / rhythm, and could be the single from this...maybe?. Track 5 for me is a corker of a straight rock n roll number, with a nice 70s retro touch (loved this!). "Cute Repulsive" returns again as a re-worked version, beginning Gillian's set. Following this, is the equally touching ballad of Gill's "Can you See It?", being the song in homage to her grandfather. A lovely mid tempo song for track 9 with the album ending with a Mandarin version of one of their previous songs (sorry guys, I don't know what this is called), found on the "Our Love" CD set. The thing about this album is that no matter what type of music the Twins showcase (even track 5's rock n roll number), its still always essentially a verve filled 'Twins' sound, using the music type as a form to use, and all these songs still have that 'Twins golden age' feel about them. For the moment, anyway. The album cover, at first made me think of a 'moving on', reflected by the more moodier and subdued looking photos of both Twins. But don't let that kid you. Inside the box, on the gate fold CD sleeve, are the more optimistic looks of the Twins to each other (we can turn and face the strain in the rain), and the somewhat edgy viewpoints of each Twin blitzed by all the funny photos you will find of them here. Its a much more maturer album, but fun hasn't been ditched for progress. C and G are still fun - and didn't someone say somewhere, that growing older is by letting go of play and fun! Still, we grow older. One thing to mention to some of you guys, who may prefer to get the second version of this album instead, is don't let this pass if you can help it. There is so much included here, that would be a shame to miss. Within the box are two glossy poster lyric sheets, featuring a set for Charlene and another for Gillian, with a big main photo of each Twin respective, and two luxury 'photographic memories' treats for fans (the best of the bunch, here!) in the form of a 24 page landscape booklet for Charlene (with loads of amusing and personal photos) and a wonderful set of various sized photos inside a nice packaged bag, for Gillian's set - which are two unique gift items here. Funnily enough, I bought my aunt a copy of the "Twins Our Love" 3 CD set for Christmas this year, and all the songs included are a great set of course, but as a first impression of the Twins to somebody who hasn't heard of them before, I liked to put them across pictorially, too. And although the photo sessions to the "Our Love" set is great, too (ahem!), this new Mandarin CD is preferable, I think, to give somebody with all of these inclusions of G and C's photos in a more personal, varied and fun sense - which reflects and and puts the Twins across perfectly. So bag a copy of this to avoid disappointment. Great album - should be v-e-r-r-y popular! Its a big collaboration all of this, of course, and lots of people have helped make this CD, including Jay Chou - and what an album! Thank you C and G - keep cool! You are two very uplifting guys!! |
