Back in 2008 with her sophomore effort The Next Dawn, the fledgling starlet continues to offer a warm smile and pure, personable love songs for young hearts. Title track The Next Dawn gathers the formidable talents of hit songwriter Chen Hsiao Hsia, noted lyricist Daryl Yao, and producer Chen Jun Tin for a soft and sweet love song. Claire Kuo shows a clear improvement in her vocals, bringing a soft maturity to the song and the album.

Worth listening

This album is definitely much better than the first. A mix of ear-catching ballads and up-tempo songs makes it worth to listen without skipping any tracks (except track 9 which has bad recording). My favorite tracks are almost all the tracks in this album except track 9. I think every track has its own unique part. Some tracks are worth listening for the melody while some tracks are nice for the music and vocal. In spite of several lack in some parts, Claire is a good singer. Her vocal is powerful in some songs but sweet in others. It reminds me to both Angela Chang and Fish Leung. I think Claire is a very potential singer. I can't wait to see her to be a great female singer in the future. |
