They may have grabbed attention initially as the girl version of Super Junior, but nine-member girl group Girls' Generation succeeded in winning the hearts of K-pop fans with their own unique appeals. The group made their debut in August with the single Into The World, which stormed to the #1 spot on the M.net chart within two months of its release. In response to the high demand for their first self-titled album, Girls' Generation which saw release in November of 2007, the girls are back with a repackaged version entitled Baby Baby containing all of the songs that featured in the original album plus 3 extra tracks.

The titular track Girls' Generation (Track 1) is a remake of Lee Seung Chul's 1989 hit of the same name. Rearranged by accomplished composer Kenzie, the song appeals to both young and older generations, offering tunes reminiscent of the 1980s and full of youthful energy and funk. Other noteworthy tracks include the lively, rhythmic Ooh La-La! (Track 2) composed by Lee Jae Myung, house dance number Kissing You (Track 5), and Baby Baby (Track 3), a sweet confession of love written by Hwang Sung Je, whose previous works include BoA's "Atlantis Girl". Also, lyrical ballads such as Tears (Track 7) and Complete (Track 4) offer the group's nine colorful vocals in perfect transparent harmony. Adding to the original track list are Kissing You (Track 12), "Let's Go Girls' Generation - Long Version" (Track 13) and "Let's Go Girls' Generation - Short Version" (Track 14). Girls' Generation aims to be a new generation representing all generations.

First off, before buying this cd, you must be aware this is a bubble-gum pop.
Once you've cleared that in your head there are no further problems.
I personally, like this cd very much. All the songs are very cute and catchy. They make me all bouncy and happy with their happy tunes and lovely voices. Despite many criticizing girls about their lack of vocals, I find them all to have very enjoyable voices.
My favorite tracks on this cd are:
소녀시대, Ooh la la, Into the new world, Baby Baby, Honey and 7989- leader umma's fantastic duet with Kangta.
Other songs are really nice too. When you're in bad mood, those songs are perfect to cheer you up.
About the packaging- it's nothing special really. Photobook with few pictures I'm sure you've all seen on the internet that are nothing special and lyrics of the songs which won't mean you much unless you know korean.
But all in all, I'm glad I got this cd.

Not terribly interesting or impressive.

The songs 'Girls Generation' and 'Into the New World' are my favourites from the album. The rest of the material is too cutesy, and very redundant.

The cd is still good for a lite listen, although I don't think it's something i will be coming back to very often.

honestly i dont listen to this album very much
because i only like a few songs out of it, the rest are just ok.
so in other words, im paying 14 dollars for a few songs.
im still a fan of them, so ill be waiting for a better 2nd album

This album is really worth to buy. I love all the songs in this album. The songs like 'Girls Generation', 'Kissing You', 'Baby Baby' are very addictive. Also listen to the perfect ballad 'Complete' and 'Tears'. I fell in love with the songs since the first time i hear it. An awesome duet '7989' by the Girls Generation leader Tae Yeon & Kang Ta and another great songs like 'Into The New World', 'Merry Go Round', 'Honey', 'Tinkerbell', 'Ooh La La' makes this album really a great & awesome album.

i know its very delayed,,ive been wanting the album for a very long time, but never had the chance to,the songs i heard from them were so good,,im deciding to actually purchase the actual disc,,,but now im wondering whether to get the repackage or original,,,i dunno which one,,,reviewer below said disappointed abt the repackage booklet? can someone kindly tell me the difference of the two discs besides the fact theres extra songs and the different cover picture,,,like *shrugs* wat it looks like,,,glossy? etc,,thxthx
